Charité Alumni is launching a new format, ALLumni Day, as an opportunity for all current and former members of the Charité community (students, junior staff, employees) to network, enjoy the benefits of the university medicine organization, and get to know both Charité and each other a little better through shared interaction. To coincide with the reopening of the Berlin Museum of Medical History (BMM), we are kicking off the new series with a tour of the museum guided by Prof. Thomas Schnalke, BMM director, on September 5.
Modernized and reopened: the BMM
After a three-year construction and modernization phase, the BMM opened its new doors on June 16. The redesigned front plaza, revamped entrance area, and large new display cases immediately catch the visitor’s eye. The inside of the building has been equipped with contemporary museum technology. The museum is currently presenting the permanent exhibition, titled “Tracing life” (Dem Leben auf der Spur), along with two special exhibitions: “The brain in science and art” (Das Gehirn in Wissenschaft und Kunst) and “There is something there – cancer and emotions” (Da ist etwas – Krebs und Emotionen).
